Every showing is an opportunity to get a great offer in on your newly listed home. It is important to stay vigilant and make your #1 mission to keep your home sparkling for potential buyers. We have compiled a little list of showing tips and reminders that will help push your home to the “short list” of choices.
- Lighten Up– Turning on lights and opening up blinds and drapes allow natural light to showcase your homes best features.
- Freshen UP!– Odors are tricky. Sometimes we are used to the odors of our home and can no longer smell pets and sometimes mildew. Deep cleaning is key to removing odors. Carpets should be professionally steam cleaned. Wash down walls and baseboards.
- Banish Dirt!– Removing surface dirt and hair can really make a difference into how clean your home feels. Buyers do NOT want to see your toothpaste in the sink, nor have to brush dog hair off their pants after touring your home.
- Lock Up!– The public will be opening your closets and medicine cabinets. Buyers often have their children in tow. All breakables, weapons, jewelry, etc. needs to be locked up or pre-packed and stored away for safety. When in doubt, lock it up.
- Pick Up!– Remove the clutter and you will have less to “pick up” before buyers come over. Pack up as much as you can. Par down toys to a few favorites to make your life easier.
- Make Up!– Making your bed can really pull a bedroom together, and make it appear neat and tidy. Simplify by paring down throw pillows and blankets, so beds can be made in 60 seconds flat.
